Winter Blues - Taking Control

This winter has been extremely mild in Cardiff, but its rained incessantly. Most mornings walking my dog have been overcast or raining. Waterproof gear drying out on the radiators have draped over our kitchen. It easy to slip into; staying in warm and dry, not pushing myself physically, allowing blood sugars to rise and taking more insulin to compensate.

World Diabetes Day 14th Nov

Raising the awareness of Diabetes  has been good this week. Meeting all the group  volunteers at the diabetes UK Cymru "connect"event at the holiday inn  Cardiff. We also had a great twitter Q&A with Consultant Dr Sam Rice from Llanelli. Asking questions about the Xpert type 2 course and retinopathy. Is one size fits all, with X-pert the best model or can we adapt it to meet the diversity of groups within Cardiff. Where's the best place to get info on retinopathy?

The week was capped by and interview with BBC Wales today reporter Nicky Smith  discussing diabetes research in Wales to mark Global Diabetes Day
